A clip-on controller turns your phone into a proper handheld for Game Pass cloud gaming, PS Remote Play and controller-friendly mobile games. The big thing to check is the connection: most here plug into your phone’s USB-C port, which means iPhone 15 or newer, or a modern Android phone. If you’ve got an older iPhone with Lightning, look at a Bluetooth pad like #7. (Here’s how we choose products.)

  • Best for iPhone and iPad mini: GameSir G8 Plus MFi (#2)
  • Best for PlayStation fans: Backbone One PlayStation Edition (#3)

FAQ

Will a USB-C phone controller work with my iPhone?

Only with an iPhone that has USB-C (iPhone 15 or newer). For older iPhones, use a Bluetooth controller like the GXTrust Mylox (#7), or look for a Lightning version.

Can I use these for Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming?

Yes. The Kishi, GameSir and Mylox listings all mention cloud gaming, Xbox games or Remote Play – you’ll need a strong Wi-Fi or 5G connection.

Which phone controller is best for PS Remote Play?

The Backbone One PlayStation Edition (#3) is designed around it, but any of these will work with Remote Play on a supported phone.
