Buying for a PC gamer is nerve-racking if you don’t know their setup. Is their keyboard full-size? Do they already have a wireless mouse? Will a US keyboard annoy them? So instead of a list of random “gamer” stuff, I’ve sorted these gifts by how much you need to know before you buy. The first three are safe for almost anyone with a gaming PC. The middle ones need one quick fact (you can usually get it from a photo of their desk). The last is for the enthusiast. Every pick is sold by Amazon UK, and I’ve checked each one for UK layout, plug and seller (two popular gifts didn’t make it, see below). (Here’s how we choose products.)

  • Best safe gift: CHERRY XTRFY GP5 mouse pad (#1)
  • Best for a dusty PC: IT Dusters CompuCleaner (#2)
  • Best cordless duster: WOLFANG WE01 (#3)
  • Best first wireless mouse: Logitech G305 (#6)
  • Best for PC players who use a controller: 8BitDo Ultimate 2C (#8)
  • Best for the enthusiast: Corsair CLIPPER PRO MINI 60 HE, UK layout (#9)

Best safe gift

1. CHERRY XTRFY GP5 Fabric Gaming Mouse Pad, Size L (CX-GP5-L-BLACK)

by CHERRY XTRFY

Who it’s for: Any PC gamer. Mouse pads get grubby and fray at the edges, so a fresh one is a gift they’ll actually use, even if they already own one.

Verdict: The lowest-risk gift on this page. It’s a large square pad (460 × 400 mm, 4 mm thick) with a smooth “speed” fabric surface, stitched edges so it won’t fray, and a rubberised base to stop it sliding. The best bit for a gift: it goes in the washing machine at 30 °C. If they have a big desk and like a pad under the keyboard too, the same pad comes in an XL size.

What we like

  • You don’t need to know anything about their PC
  • Stitched edges stop fraying and peeling
  • Machine washable at 30 °C (no tumble dryer)
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • L size covers the mouse area only, not the whole desk
  • Speed surfaces feel slippery to some players who prefer more control

Best for a dusty PC

2. IT Dusters CompuCleaner Electric Air Duster (C502)

by IT Dusters

Who it’s for: PC gamers who still clean their case with cans of compressed air, or who never clean it at all and have the fan noise to prove it.

Verdict: Gaming PCs pull dust into their fans and filters, and canned air runs out fast. This mains-powered blower replaces the cans: a 500 W motor, a 3 m braided cable and four nozzles, from narrow ones for between heatsink fins to a wide fan for desks. It’s corded, so there’s no battery to fade halfway through a clean. The listing doesn’t state the plug type, but UK buyers’ reviews say it arrives with a UK three-pin plug.

What we like

  • No cans to keep buying
  • Mains power, so the airflow doesn’t drop off as it runs
  • Four nozzles for fans, keyboards and desks
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • Corded and about 900 g (per the listing), so heavier than a cordless duster
  • Plug type isn’t stated on the listing (reviews report a UK plug)

Best cordless duster

3. WOLFANG WE01 Cordless Air Duster

by WOLFANG

Who it’s for: Gamers who want to blast crumbs out of a keyboard or dust off a monitor stand without dragging out a mains cable.

Verdict: A small rechargeable alternative to the CompuCleaner. WOLFANG quotes a top speed of 110,000 RPM with three speed settings, and it comes with four nozzles and a lanyard. It charges over USB-C in about 3.5 hours, and the listing quotes up to 240 minutes of use on the lowest setting. At 205 g it’s handy for keyboards and desks; for a full case clean, the mains-powered #2 is the stronger pick.

What we like

  • Cordless and light (205 g)
  • USB-C charging, so no special charger
  • Three speeds and four nozzles
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • The 240-minute runtime is quoted for the lowest speed only
  • Newer, lesser-known brand

Best wrist rest

4. Razer Ergonomic Wrist Rest Pro for Full-Size Keyboards

by Razer

Who it’s for: Players with a full-size keyboard (one with a number pad on the right) who rest their wrists on the desk edge during long sessions.

Verdict: The one fact you need: does their keyboard have a number pad? This rest is 44.5 cm long, made for full-size boards, and will overhang a compact one. If it fits, it’s a comfortable upgrade: memory foam with cooling gel inside, a heat-dissipating fabric cover and rubber feet so it doesn’t creep across the desk.

What we like

  • Cooling gel inside the memory foam
  • Anti-slip rubber base
  • Big-brand finish that matches most gaming setups
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • Full-size only – too long for 60–75% keyboards
  • Fabric top needs the odd wipe to stay clean

Plainer full-size wrist rest

5. HyperX Wrist Rest for Full-Size Keyboards (HX-WR)

by HyperX

Who it’s for: The same person as #4, if they’d prefer a plain black rest without the Razer branding, or you’d like to spend a bit less.

Verdict: The alternative to the Razer rest, with the same one-fact rule: full-size keyboards only. It uses cool-gel memory foam, an anti-slip base and anti-fray stitching round the edge. It’s plainer to look at, which suits a desk that isn’t all one brand.

What we like

  • Cool-gel memory foam
  • Anti-fray stitched edge
  • Plain, brand-neutral look
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • Full-size keyboards only
  • The listing gives fewer details than the Razer

Best first wireless mouse

6. Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse (910-005283)

by Logitech G

Who it’s for: Someone still on a wired or office mouse. The compact shape suits most hand sizes, so it’s a fairly safe mouse to buy for someone else.

Verdict: The one fact to check: are they still using a wired or basic mouse? If so, this is the easy upgrade. Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless has a 1 ms report rate, so it feels like a wired mouse, and the HERO sensor goes up to 12,000 DPI. It runs for up to 250 hours on one AA battery, which is in the box. The battery makes it heavier than the newest ultralight mice, at about 99 g, but it means no charging cable.

What we like

  • Up to 250 hours on one AA battery (included)
  • 1 ms report rate over LIGHTSPEED wireless
  • Compact shape with storage for the USB receiver
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • About 99 g with the battery, so not an ultralight
  • Uses AA batteries rather than a rechargeable cell

Best for MMO and battle-royale players

7. SteelSeries Aerox 5 Wireless Gaming Mouse

by SteelSeries

Who it’s for: MMO and battle-royale players who bind lots of actions to the mouse, and anyone who wants one mouse for a gaming PC and a laptop.

Verdict: The one fact to check: do they want extra buttons? The Aerox 5 has nine programmable buttons, including a side panel and an up/down flick switch, yet weighs only 74 g thanks to its holey shell. It connects over 2.4 GHz for gaming or Bluetooth 5.0 for a laptop, and SteelSeries quotes up to 180 hours of battery. The interior is protected to IP54 against splashes and dust.

What we like

  • Nine programmable buttons at 74 g
  • 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0 in one mouse
  • Up to 180 hours of battery (listing)
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • The holey shell isn’t to everyone’s taste
  • Right-handed shape only

Best for PC players who use a controller

8. 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller for Windows and Android (Green)

by 8BitDo

Who it’s for: PC gamers who play racing games, soulslikes or anything on the TV with a pad, and anyone whose old controller has started to drift.

Verdict: The one fact to check: do they play with a controller on PC? If yes, this is great value. The sticks and triggers use Hall-effect sensors, which don’t wear the way traditional sticks do, so drift is far less likely. It polls at 1,000 Hz over its 2.4G dongle or a cable, and has two extra back bumpers (L4/R4) you can remap without any software. On Windows it connects by dongle or cable only (Bluetooth is for Android), and it’s not a console controller.

What we like

  • Hall-effect sticks and triggers resist drift
  • 1,000 Hz polling over 2.4G or cable
  • Extra L4/R4 bumpers, remappable without software
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • No Bluetooth on Windows – 2.4G dongle or cable only
  • Windows and Android only, not for consoles

Best for the enthusiast

9. Corsair CLIPPER PRO MINI 60 HE Gaming Keyboard, UK QWERTY (CH-979101J-UK)

by Corsair

Who it’s for: Competitive shooter players who want more room for big mouse swipes, and who fancy one of the Hall-effect keyboards that have become popular for FPS games.

Verdict: The enthusiast gift, and the reason it made the list over cheaper rivals: it’s listed as UK QWERTY. The Hall-effect switches let you set how far a key travels before it registers (0.2–3.8 mm), and Rapid Trigger resets a key after just 0.1 mm, which helps with fast taps and counter-strafing. It polls at up to 8,000 Hz, has PBT double-shot keycaps and an IP57 rating against water and dust. It’s a 60% board, so there’s no function row, arrow keys or number pad.

What we like

  • UK QWERTY layout, confirmed on the listing
  • Adjustable actuation and 0.1 mm Rapid Trigger
  • PBT double-shot keycaps and an IP57 rating
  • Sold by Amazon when we checked

Worth knowing

  • 60% layout: no F-row, arrows or numpad
  • A big, personal purchase – check they want a compact board

Checked on Amazon UK with a London delivery address on 6 October 2026. Sellers and stock change, so check the listing before you buy.

Keyboard layout: the two cheaper 60% Hall-effect keyboards we found (Aula WIN60 HE and Womier M68 HE V2) were sold by Amazon US and their listings didn’t say UK layout. A US layout has no £ key, swaps @ and " and uses a different-shaped Enter key, so we only recommend the board that says UK QWERTY.

Which one should you get?

  • You know nothing about their setup: the CHERRY XTRFY GP5 mouse pad, or an air duster: the CompuCleaner for case cleans, the WOLFANG for keyboards and desks.
  • They have a full-size keyboard (with a number pad): the Razer or HyperX wrist rest. Don’t pair either with the compact Corsair.
  • They still use a wired or office mouse: the Logitech G305.
  • They play MMOs or battle royales: the SteelSeries Aerox 5, for its side buttons.
  • They play racing games or soulslikes on PC: the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C.
  • They’re into competitive shooters and you want to splash out: the Corsair CLIPPER PRO MINI 60 HE.
  • They stream as well: see our streaming mics under £50, mic arms under £50 and webcams under £50 guides.
  • Smaller budget: see our gifts for gamers under £20. For a December countdown, there’s a gamer calendar in our advent calendars for men guide.

What we left out and why

  • HIOUME monitor light bar: a handy gift for late-night players, but on the UK view it was sold by Amazon US, which means an international item shipped from abroad. Returns can be slower, so we left it out until a UK-sold version appears.
  • HIHUHEN XXL desk mat: a cheap full-desk mat, but Amazon UK showed only two left in stock when we checked.
  • Cheaper 60% Hall-effect keyboards (Aula WIN60 HE, Womier M68 HE V2): sold by Amazon US, and the listings don’t say UK layout.
  • Redragon headset stand: no main Amazon offer, and the listing’s details were in German.
  • Webcams, microphones and mic arms: they have their own guides, linked above.
  • Headsets: too personal to buy blind, and covered in their own guides.
  • Game keys and gift cards: they depend on which store they use, so we’ve left them as a tip in the FAQ.

Prices change all the time. We don’t show prices on What2Buy – use the “Check price on Amazon” buttons for the current price.

FAQ

What do you buy a PC gamer who has everything?

Something that wears out or gets dirty. A fresh mouse pad (#1) or an air duster (#2, #3) is useful even for someone with a top-end setup, and you don’t need to know anything about their PC.

Should I buy a UK or US layout keyboard as a gift?

UK, unless they’ve told you otherwise. A US layout has no £ key, swaps the @ and " keys and has a differently shaped Enter key, which annoys a lot of UK typists. Many cheap gaming keyboards on Amazon UK are US-layout imports, so check the listing says “UK”.

Wired or wireless mouse for gaming?

Modern gaming wireless, like Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED (#6) or SteelSeries’ 2.4 GHz (#7), is quick enough for competitive play, and losing the cable is a nice upgrade. Just check they don’t already have a wireless gaming mouse.

Is a controller worth it for PC gaming?

For racing games, soulslikes, platformers and anything played from the sofa, yes. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C (#8) is made for Windows. If they only play shooters or strategy games, a mouse or keyboard is a better gift.

Are Steam gift cards a good gift?

They’re a safe fallback if they play on Steam, since they can pick their own game. Check which store they actually use (Steam, Epic or another launcher) before you buy.
