The most annoying thing about buying a gaming keyboard in the UK isn’t the switches, it’s the layout. Loads of the boards you see in reviews are US (ANSI) layout: a wide, short Enter key, no £ key, and @ and " swapped. So every board below has a UK layout confirmed on its Amazon UK listing. I’ve sorted them by what you want: a cheap first mechanical, wireless, or a Hall-effect board with rapid trigger for competitive FPS. (Here’s how we choose products.)

  • Best overall (Hall-effect): Corsair K70 PRO TKL (#1)
  • Best budget: Keychron C3 Pro (#2)
  • Best wireless: Corsair K65 PLUS WIRELESS (#3)
  • Cheapest mechanical: MSI FORGE GK320 (#4)
  • Best wireless Hall-effect: Keychron K10 HE (#8)

Best overall

1. Corsair K70 PRO TKL RGB (Hall-effect, UK layout)

by Corsair

Who it’s for: Players in CS2, Valorant or Fortnite who want rapid trigger and adjustable actuation, with a numpad-free board that leaves room for the mouse.

Verdict: Our top pick. The K70 PRO TKL uses Corsair’s pre-lubed MGX Hyperdrive magnetic (Hall-effect) switches, so you can set how far down a key fires, and Rapid Trigger resets it the moment you lift. SOCD handling is built in for strafing. It’s sold by Amazon in a proper UK layout, which is rarer than it should be for a board like this.

What we like

  • Hall-effect switches with adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger (listing)
  • SOCD handling for counter-strafing (listing)
  • Tenkeyless, so more space for the mouse
  • UK layout (model CH-911911G-UK), sold by Amazon

Worth knowing

  • Wired only
  • Hall-effect features need setting up in Corsair’s software to get the most out of them

Best budget

2. Keychron C3 Pro wired mechanical keyboard (ISO UK)

by Keychron

Who it’s for: Anyone upgrading from a membrane keyboard who wants a real UK layout without spending much.

Verdict: The budget pick for most people. You get a gasket-mounted tenkeyless board with QMK support (so you can remap anything), N-key rollover and 1000 Hz polling, in genuine ISO UK. The trade-offs are ABS keycaps and red-only backlighting.

What we like

  • True ISO UK layout (title)
  • Gasket mount and QMK / Keychron Launcher remapping (listing)
  • 1000 Hz polling, NKRO (listing)

Worth knowing

  • Sold by Keychron United Kingdom, the brand’s own store on Amazon (third-party seller)
  • Double-shot ABS keycaps rather than PBT

Best wireless

3. Corsair K65 PLUS WIRELESS 75% (UK layout)

by Corsair

Who it’s for: Players who want a compact wireless board with a quality feel, and don’t need Hall-effect.

Verdict: Our wireless pick. It connects by 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth or USB-C, uses pre-lubed MLX Fusion tactile switches, and is hot-swappable, so you can change switches later without soldering. PBT double-shot keycaps are a nice touch at this level.

What we like

  • Three ways to connect: 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, USB-C (listing)
  • Hot-swappable switches (listing)
  • PBT double-shot keycaps (listing)
  • UK layout (model CH-91D441F-UK), sold by Amazon

Worth knowing

  • Not Hall-effect, so no rapid trigger

Cheapest mechanical

4. MSI FORGE GK320 mechanical gaming keyboard (UK, red switches)

by MSI

Who it’s for: Anyone who wants mechanical switches for the least money, with a numpad and RGB.

Verdict: The cheapest board here and still a proper mechanical, with linear red switches, a volume wheel and 3-pin hot-swap sockets. It’s sold by Amazon in UK layout, which is reassuring at this end of the market.

What we like

  • Hot-swap (3-pin) sockets (listing)
  • Volume wheel and RGB (listing)
  • UK layout (title, model S11-04UK251-HH9), sold by Amazon

Best with a numpad

5. Keychron C2 Pro 8K wired mechanical keyboard (UK ISO)

by Keychron

Who it’s for: Players who use the numpad for work or games and want PBT keycaps and high polling for the money.

Verdict: A full-size board with up to 8000 Hz polling (switchable to 1000 or 4000), hot-swap sockets, QMK/VIA remapping and PBT keycaps, in UK ISO. A lot of keyboard for a wired budget pick.

What we like

  • 8000 Hz polling, with 1000 / 4000 Hz options (listing)
  • Hot-swap and QMK/VIA (listing)
  • PBT keycaps, south-facing RGB (listing)

Verdict: A wireless 75% board with a big 4000 mAh battery, QMK/VIA, gasket mount and hot-swap sockets that take 3-pin or 5-pin switches. The catch is the seller: it ships from an EU-based third party, so check the delivery estimate before you order.

What we like

  • 4000 mAh battery, up to 266 hours (listing)
  • 3/5-pin hot-swap, gasket mount, QMK/VIA (listing)

Best budget Hall-effect

7. Corsair CLIPPER PRO MINI 60 HE (UK QWERTY)

by Corsair

Who it’s for: FPS players who want rapid trigger on a budget and are happy with a tiny 60% board.

Verdict: The cheapest UK-layout Hall-effect board we found. Actuation adjusts from 0.2 to 3.8 mm, Rapid Trigger resets after 0.1 mm, and it polls at 8000 Hz. It’s also on our PC gamers’ gift list. The trade-off is the 60% size: no dedicated arrow keys or F-row.

What we like

  • 0.2–3.8 mm adjustable actuation, 0.1 mm Rapid Trigger reset (listing)
  • FlashTap SOCD and 8000 Hz polling (listing)
  • PBT keycaps (listing)
  • UK QWERTY (title), sold by Amazon

Best wireless Hall-effect

8. Keychron K10 HE wireless Hall-effect keyboard (UK layout)

by Keychron

Who it’s for: Players who want rapid trigger but also a numpad and wireless, and like a board that looks good on the desk.

Verdict: A rare thing: a full-size, wireless Hall-effect board in UK layout with UK ISO keycaps. Actuation adjusts from 0.2 to 3.8 mm with rapid trigger, the magnetic switches are hot-swappable, and the case mixes aluminium and wood. It’s the priciest Keychron here.

What we like

  • Wireless Hall-effect: 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C (listing)
  • 0.2–3.8 mm actuation, rapid trigger (listing)
  • UK layout with UK ISO keycaps (title and bullets)

Best 60% Hall-effect

9. SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Gen 3 (UK English QWERTY)

by SteelSeries

Who it’s for: Competitive players who want a tiny board with SteelSeries’ long-running Hall-effect features.

Verdict: SteelSeries has been doing adjustable switches for longer than most, and the Gen 3 Mini adds Rapid Trigger, Rapid Tap (its take on SOCD) and Protection Mode, which dulls neighbouring keys to cut accidental presses. The listing is shared with US and other layouts, so make sure ‘UK English QWERTY’ is selected before you buy.

What we like

  • OmniPoint 3.0 Hall-effect, 40 actuation levels (listing)
  • Rapid Trigger, Rapid Tap and Protection Mode (listing)
  • UK English QWERTY style on this listing, sold by Amazon

Worth knowing

  • 60%: no dedicated arrows or F-row

Best analog optical

10. Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL (analog optical, UK layout)

by Razer

Who it’s for: Players already in Razer’s ecosystem who want rapid trigger and like adjusting things on the board itself.

Verdict: Not Hall-effect: the Huntsman uses Razer’s analog optical switches, which do the same job of adjustable actuation (0.1 to 4.0 mm) and Rapid Trigger. Snap Tap handles strafing, and you can change actuation on the board with the dial and LED indicator, no software needed. It comes with a magnetic wrist rest.

What we like

  • 0.1–4.0 mm adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, Snap Tap (listing)
  • Onboard adjustments with an LED indicator (listing)
  • Magnetic wrist rest, aluminium top plate, PBT keycaps (listing)
  • QWERTY UK layout (title), sold by Amazon

  • Snap Tap needs the latest firmware (listing)

Best low-profile

11. Logitech G G515 TKL wired low-profile gaming keyboard (UK)

by Logitech G

Who it’s for: Anyone who games and types a lot and prefers a slim, laptop-like feel to a tall mechanical board.

Verdict: A slim tenkeyless board with factory-lubed low-profile GL switches, PBT double-shot keycaps and sound-dampening layers. It’s the pick if tall keyboards hurt your wrists. It isn’t Hall-effect, and the listing doesn’t say whether this one has tactile or linear switches.

What we like

  • PBT double-shot keycaps (listing)
  • QWERTY UK English layout (title), sold by Amazon

Hall-effect, analog optical or mechanical?

  • Mechanical (#2–#6, #11): a fixed actuation point. Cheaper, and all most people need.
  • Hall-effect (#1, #7, #8, #9): magnetic switches with adjustable actuation and rapid trigger. The one to get if you play competitive FPS.
  • Analog optical (#10): Razer’s version of the same idea, using light instead of magnets.

Which one should you get?

  • Competitive FPS, one board for everything: Corsair K70 PRO TKL (#1).
  • Hall-effect on a budget: Corsair Clipper Pro Mini 60 HE (#7), if you’re happy with 60%.
  • First mechanical, small budget: Keychron C3 Pro (#2), or the MSI GK320 (#4) for the very least.
  • Wireless: Corsair K65 PLUS WIRELESS (#3), the OMOTON (#6) for less, or the Keychron K10 HE (#8) for wireless Hall-effect.
  • You use a numpad: Keychron C2 Pro 8K (#5) or K10 HE (#8).
  • Already all-in on Razer: Huntsman V3 Pro TKL (#10).
  • Buying as a gift? Our gifts for PC gamers covers mice, headsets and more.

What we left out and why

  • AULA WIN60 HE: the listing says US layout.
  • Wooting 80HE: the Amazon UK listing was a Japanese (JIS) version with keycaps sold separately, and no seller was showing.
  • Keychron K2 HE: the listing doesn’t say which layout it is.
  • SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3: only sold by a third party, and the listing doesn’t make the layout clear.
  • Akko MOD68 HE: the layout isn’t stated on the listing.
  • TECKNET mechanical: UK layout, but very thin specs and an EU-based third-party seller.

FAQ

What is a Hall-effect keyboard?

It uses magnets and a sensor instead of a metal contact, so the board knows exactly how far each key is pressed. That lets you choose the actuation point – from 0.2 mm on several boards here – and use rapid trigger.

What is rapid trigger?

A key resets the moment you start lifting it, rather than at a fixed point, so you can tap it again sooner. Hall-effect boards (#1, #7, #8, #9) and Razer’s analog optical Huntsman (#10) all list it.

How do I know if a keyboard is UK layout?

Look for UK or ISO in the title, a -UK model number, or a UK style selected on the listing. A US (ANSI) board has a wide, short Enter key, no £ key, and @ and " swapped. Every board on this page has a UK layout on its Amazon UK listing.

Is 8000 Hz polling worth it?

It’s a spec on the Keychron C2 Pro 8K (#5) and the Corsair Clipper (#7). Most players won’t notice the difference from 1000 Hz, so don’t pick a board on that alone.
