Pokémon is one of those rare things that a six-year-old and a thirty-six-year-old can be equally obsessed with, which makes it a brilliant gift theme. The catch is that Amazon is full of unofficial “Pokemon” bundles and cards resold well above their list price. So everything here is officially licensed and, apart from one watch, sold by Amazon itself. I’ve grouped them by what the fan likes doing: build, cuddle and play, or read, with the age from each listing. (Here’s how we choose products.)

  • Best overall: LEGO Pokémon Trainer’s Buggy Adventure (#1)
  • Best for teen and adult fans: MEGA Pokémon Kanto Region Pokédex (#3)
  • Best big present for little ones: Battle Action Pikachu (#6)
  • Best stocking filler: Ravensburger 3D Puzzle Ball (#9)

by LEGO

Who it’s for: Young LEGO builders who love Bulbasaur, or anyone who wants to try the new LEGO Pokémon line without a big spend.

Which one should you get?

  • They love LEGO: Trainer’s Buggy (#1), or Berry Bash (#2) for a smaller spend.
  • A teen or adult fan: the MEGA Kanto Pokédex (#3).
  • Under 5: the Squirtle plush (#4).
  • Main present for a 4–8-year-old: Battle Action Pikachu (#6).
  • Bookworms: the Encyclopedia (#7) for younger readers, Pokécology (#8) for older ones.
  • Stocking size: the puzzle ball (#9) or the LED watch (#10).
  • They play on Switch 2? Our Switch 2 accessories under £20 has cases and grips, and our gifts for gamers under £20 has more small ideas.

What we left out and why

  • Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box and Binder Collection: both are official and sold by Amazon, but on 11 October they were only “available by invitation”, so you couldn’t just add them to your basket. We’ll look again if they go on normal sale.
  • Unbranded “Pokemon” booster bundles: they’re put together by resellers, not official products.
  • Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box resales: listed by resellers at well above the usual price.
  • The biggest LEGO Pokémon sets: over a typical gift budget.
  • MEGA Squirtle: sold by a third party, so we picked the Amazon-sold Pokédex instead.
  • Mew plush: it doubled up the plush slot.
  • Razer Cobra Pokémon Edition mouse: a gaming mouse, so outside this toy-and-collector list.
  • Sponsored Funko, stationery and pen sets: sponsored listings where the licence or the seller wasn’t clear.

Prices change all the time. We don’t show prices on What2Buy – use the “Check price on Amazon” buttons for the current price.

FAQ

What's the best Pokémon gift for a 7-year-old?

One of the LEGO Pokémon sets (#1, #2), the 3D puzzle ball (#9) or the LED watch (#10). For a bigger present, Battle Action Pikachu (#6).

Why aren't there any Pokémon cards on this list?

The official 30th Celebration card sets were only ‘available by invitation’ on Amazon UK when we checked, so you couldn’t simply buy them. We’d rather not send you to unofficial bundles or resellers charging well above the list price.

Do LEGO Pokémon sets need a SMART Brick?

For the lights and sounds, yes, and it isn’t included with #1 or #2, according to the listings. The sets can still be built and played with without one.

What are good Pokémon gifts for adults?

The MEGA Kanto Pokédex (#3), the Eevee plush (#5) or Pokécology (#8).
